    VirtualBox Compatible DVD Players

I need to get software into VirtualBox via DVD. My current system uses a SATA DVD which VirtualBox cannot recognize. For this reason, I am running in Native Window 7 which is like being in exile.

Does anyone know if VirtualBox will recognize a USB 2 DVD?

    Thanks,
    Burt

Which version of Virtualbox are you using? 3.2.6 works fine with my SATA DVD-RW.
    There's no place like ~/

I believe it was the latest downloaded from the VB site last week. Not only could I not get it to read the drive but the VB forums echo this flaw.

My DVD is an ASUS. Works fine in W7 and all other aspects of Lucid, except VB. If I could get it to read load W7 and Sony Vegas, I'll be out of the native in a flash.

It's not that I hate Windows, it is slow, only one workspace and acts like an overbearing cop. Unfortunately, there is a lot more software available for it then Linux.
