    ^ IMHO: A circumstance or bug took the forum offline for a while, part of the script was modified or a database was (at least partially) crashed and that made some bugs, particularly in User CP.

    ^They say they are in process of updating forum software, I assume this was a "database error" that is likely to happen in such updates.

    ^ I believe it is the friction that keeps an object from moving, as opposed to friction that works against a moving object, i.e. it keeps the object "static"
