Petition for new 7" netbooks

Is there a petition against the 7" netbooks, too? I had one. It was terrible. 800x480 is not an acceptable screen resolution.

Given this ... wouldn't you rather see more 900 series machines?

I wouldn't be opposed to another 9" machine, but the 701 is more compact. The speakers are a lot better than those on the 901, and the use of a 7" screen kept costs and power usage down. In my opinion, the 4G is a great computer and I was sad to see it go.

The only thing I use my Eee 701 for anymore is as a wifi access point

How do you do that with Ubuntu?

I would strongly consider a 7" netbook if it was inexpensive, had good battery life, and had 1024x600 (or better) resolution.

How do you do that with Ubuntu?

There are plenty of guides around. I couldn't tell you exactly how, I do it with OpenBSD.
