Printer help canon mp272

I'm having difficulty installing the drivers for this printer from the canon site, when I try install the cnijfilter common package.deb files I get the error


Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'

I'm unsure what I need to do to get the drivers installed.

edit. I think the problem is that i'm on 64bit karmic when the drivers are 32bit any way around this?

and I can now print from my pixma mp272 for the first time ever witout using that other OS

hmm. have you tried just to add it using the driver provided by ubuntu? (system>administration>printing) i have an MP220 which is running fine this way

Yeah I checked those mp220 is the closest to my model there is mp250, 270 and 272 are unavailable. Still no luck but thanks for the input.

ah just try to use the closest model number, CUPS uses the same driver for many of these printers, and chances are the same driver that works for another mp 200 series will work for the 272
