How to steam video of the desktop live on Ubuntu?

I'd like to do a live video streaming session later in the week (ie - people see what I do on the desktop and hear me yap in the mic).

Can anyone recommend a reliable setup to do this? Most sites require some Flash thing which isn't available on Ubuntu... I tried webcamstudio a while back and that seems to have a huge (5s+ delay).

Don't believe recordMyDesktop does any kind of live streaming to the web whatsoever

you could probably pipe the recordmydesktop recording out as a webcam device, and then use it in whatever medium supports webcam broadcasting
