    Yes, you need to edit the grub menu before it boots. It's pointing at the old partition (/dev/sda1), but now it's on the new one (/dev/sda2).

    When you select "Ubuntu" you'll see the grub menu. Hit 'E' to edit the first entry, and change it from:

    I have one question if I were to upgrade my laptop to say i7 8 gig. Could I move the root file and boot my wubi install .

    Just do the same steps above

    You can move wubi installs between computers. only issue is if you have a custom graphics driver, or try to run a 64-bit install on a 32-bit architecture. This thread is about migrating from wubi... and that's what I'd recommend. Wubi works great but there are too many corrupt root.disks out there for my liking and for that reason I'd recommend the dual boot route.
