Depends on what machine I am using. If I am on my desktop, running 1680x1050, I don't maximize the windows. If I am on my netbook at 1024x600, I do.

I typically have it maximized, but I'll often have it unfocused with other windows above it, and use the scroll wheel to move along the page (since mousing over an unfocused window and mouse-wheeling will scroll the unfocused window, not the active one). Basically the browser tends to act like a dynamic desktop background for me a lot of the time.

I have FF the entire height of the screen, but I have a wide monitor so there is no reason to have it the width of the screen. I have usually keep it until the width scroll bar disappears at the bottom. On my laptop I bring the width over until it meets my conky on the right side of the screen.
