Just to freak him out, Use DOSBox full screen. Try to find a DOS program To generate random Characters, or write a script that makes screen output that looks like hacking.

Has this guy ever been in a shop (or similar) where they still use old command-line systems? Many shops still use DOS, if he went into one he'd probably think it was a group of hackers .

Always get consent of the Network owner before you do anything and always keep the Network owner fully informed as what you are doing, it is all to with manners. You are the guest it's their home , their network, their say, end of story.

You know, that story is really very sickening. Worse yet, people might ACTUALLY believe it!
The above post definitely does not contain any sarcasm at all.

I remember my old windows 98 machine got an email worm once it would open outlook and send mass emails all by itself that kind of freaked me out for the longest time I was paranoid about viruses worms ect.It sent my sister in law an email too she opened it and needless to say computer herpes! She was mad at me she thought I did it on purpose I would never mess up someones machine!I got mine figured out and fixed it she had to bring hers in and pay 50 or 75 bucks!Thats how my long hard battle with viruses malware ect began! Now that Im using Ubuntu my worrys have ceased but I can see where that guys dads coming from!
This is Linux. It gives you a cute mascot and enough rope to hang yourself!

I wasn't connected to their internet at all. That's what makes it a funny story.

Oh the reason I was testing AV software is because its what his dad was pushing for me to do (because I mentioned what Wine was for, bad idea).

Oh and my terminal really shouldn't scare anyone, I have cherry blossoms on it! Maybe monospace is scary?

Also I have suggested that I could put some form of linux on it (he has an old computer), but to him he thought I was trying to hack him. This guy literally has nothing on his only computer. Not even a single text document.

Quickly delete your hard drive and set your computer on fire. IT'S. THE. ONLY. WAY.
