Start Tomboy Minimized to Gnome Panel?

I'd like to start Tomboy (the sticky-note application) at start-up but have it minimized to the Gnome panel. I tried adding tomboy to System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications, but then Tomboy opens up in full-screen mode. Then I tried adding tomboy-panel instead, but that doesn't seem to do anything at all. What's the trick I'm missing?

You want to right-click the panel, choose "Add To Panel...", and find Tomboy there.

Ah, I should have known it would be something easy. Thanks a lot!

    Hello,

I like to do the same, but I work with Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04.

Here the right click on the panel doesn't work.

How can I add tomboy to the panel minimized?

    thanks, Flip

I have not used Netbook Remix, so I don't know if it has a standard notification area. But you should be able to just add "tomboy" to your startup items (maybe in Session preferences?). If there is a notification area, the Tomboy icon will appear there and work just like the panel applet.

Start it just with tomboy (default is tomboy --search as specified in .desktop file of tomboy).
