Will Firefox 3.6.4 come as an update to Ubuntu? Or are there any ppa's that have that version. This version have 'Crash Protection', so it is not just a minor security update.

There is another thread with the solution here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...+update&page=2
basically, the solution is to add
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozi...ity/ppa/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozi...ity/ppa/ubuntu lucid main
and then synaptic show the upgrade
It will come to all supported Ubuntu versions. When? I don't know.
If you want it now, see the Installing Other Versions section of Firefox optimization and troubleshooting thread.

Try the ubuntuzilla repository - .deb packs of the official mozilla releases:
http://ubuntuzilla.sourceforge.net/
(32bit only)
Looks like it will be available tomorrow.

Or maybe not.
I assume the Thunderbird update will be pushed out at the same time.
Hi.
Don't get 3.6.4 it has been superseded by 3.6.6 which has a fair few bug fixes.
I got 3.6.6 a few days ago,by using ubuntuzilla.u install a small deb and run a small script.I will update to the latest firefox, and let you know when theres a new one..
you're using the old instructions.
ubuntuzilla is now just a normal repository, containing mozilla builds.
see http://ubuntuzilla.sourceforge.net/ for latest instructions...
the script way still works... but repo is cleaner and better.
<rant>stupid blogs and their useless copying of the old ubuntuzilla script instructions</rant>
