I make pretty website, I used Ubuntu

    http://jimmyjazz.homeip.net:808/listenwavy/

I've posted this before, but I recently did some major updates to my website/streaming radio station.
Its done 100% with Ubuntu and served with Ubuntu servers.
    Graphics in the Gimp.
    HTML/Java/PHP in Blufish.
Python (for the radio stations DJ system and automatic cover art feature) done in Anjuta.

I couldn't have done any of this without open source.

Anyways check it out and give it a listen.

Never thought it was possible to make those quality graphics in the GIMP. Now I know.

    Nice site, by the way.
    I know you...

It does look good, but why isn't there an Ogg stream?

Because converting all my music over to OGG format would take months.

    (over 10,000 songs total)

Holy sh-- 10,000 songs? You should code up your own music store. "Wavy Music Store - The music store representing Ubuntu."

actually its capable of even better graphics then that, in my opinion it just as powerful as PS (other than color managment) it just requires more creativity on the users part.

here are some wallpapers I did using the GIMP...

the graphics on both these where done 100% in gimp including the clouds on the second one.

I'm already walking a legal fine line as it is.

Looks good! How's anjuta as a python IDE? I've never tried it.

Heh, I actually just re-ripped my collection of 3000 songs from Mp3/AAC to Ogg Vorbis (from the CDs obviously, not the lossy files). I still keep the old collection for syncing with my iPod, but the Ogg Vorbis one is what I use on my computer.
