Chromium or Google Chrome and why?

I use Google Chrome because I think that the Chrome extensions work better with Chrome than Chromium. And I like the logo better.

Neither.

And you can change the Chromium logo if it bothers you that much. You could even assign the chrome icon to it.

Chromium is still almost entirely Google, most of the devs are on the payroll.

Chrome is also free. I personally use Chrome because I also believe it is more stable and has plenty of extensions to add on.

I mean Free as in Freedom. Chrome is not Free as in Freedom.

It's simple. Google makes Chrome and gives the source away under the Chromium project. That way they can also receive patches for community users. But because Google does use some proprietary things in Chrome (like a pdf viewer), those things are filtered out before the code is made open-source. Maybe some other things (like call-home features) are also filtered out, who knows?

So if you only trust open source, than you should use Chromium. If you don't care about open or closed source, than Chrome has just a bit more features.
