Is there any way to use DockbarX without Compiz?

I can't use compiz because my computer doesn't support it.

Please note that you don't need to use Compiz to be able to run DockbarX. You can just use Metacity Compositing Manager.

It appears so, you can also use wbar w/o compositing

You don't need Compiz. I've used the preview feature without Compiz, but it was a bit unreliable.
    Is only beta though

You can't use the preview feature in dockbarx x.0.39.1 or later without either compiz fusion or kwin (kde window manager). The previous versions of dockbarx x.0.30 or x.0.39 used another method to show previews which worked with any window manager which supported compositing. I changed it because it was too slow and not really stable.

You can use dockbarx without previews with any window manager, though.
