No sound after upgrade to Lucid

I've just upgraded my Toshiba L300 from Karmic to Lucid and all seems well besides no sound. Any help appreciated.

Might be a simpler solution to try.

> Go to Terminal.
> Type "alsamixer" (without quotes).
> Make sure that Master, Headphones, Speaker, etc. are turned all the way up (or at least to the point that you want them to be.

This seems to work for people who say they can see that their system is playing something, but they can't hear anything.

Thanks... checking the alsamixer in terminal showed the volume turned down... appreciate the help guys
