canoical and facebook issues

I have been watching the traffic going over my network and noticed something I don't understand and was hoping some one could help me out.

I keep getting update calls to api-13-02.snc.facebook.com and barbadine.canonical.com and twitter and the like even though I have disabled the applet on the task bar closed my account and uninstalled empathy.

I don't have ubuntu one on my machine any more and I have also disabled auto update. What is still making calls phoning home?

Let me know I would like to disable these things.
