    Re: Linux Mint vs Ubuntu?

I see. I dont think i'm trying Mint yet. At least until i try Ubuntu and see that it is not for me, but so far it is, most kubuntu problems are nonexistant... so far...

    One very important question!
Can i make my console say funny stuff like Mint consoe does every time you open it?

    type
    Code:
    apt-get moo
    NOT preceded by sudo

Am now running Mint after Thunar, Konqueror, Samba, Mplayer, Evolution, Empathy, Evince, Eye of Gnome, and others failed to work in multiple installs of Ubuntu Kubuntu and Xubuntu

You can also look at fortune, fortune has a number of additional plugins.

look at fortune? what does it mean, sorry, i dont get it?

apt-get mooonly shows a cow. I mean that it was told that Mint says some nice citation each time you run a terminal, an anecdote or a joke or something

fortune is the name of an application that gives quotes an what not

    Code:
    sudo apt-get fortune
There are a number of additional lists you can add to fortune and there are a number of configuration options.

You can search the Ubuntu repos for additional fortunes :

    http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/s...ll&release=all

You will need to read about each one to decide which ones you want.

    See also

I am not sure what Linux Mint uses, you might want to ask on the Mint forums.
