some classification

Ok, i am not to sure about this, but i am a mod on a graphics forum and i was going to make a post and say come along and say hi. but would that be spam? I thought this would be an appropriate place to place it. The forum is about anything to do with linux and graphics, distro art. open source software. But i wont say anything until i know if its "spam" or not. is it?

It would definitely be spam if you linked to the site you mod. I mean, sheesh, why would anyone want a relevant link to a relevant site in a relevant sub-forum.

Just kidding, I'm pretty sure that it is fine.

Placing it in your signature would appear to be acceptable ?

From the CoC...

No images or advertising in the signatures unless the advertising is directly related to linux in some way or is a user's personal site which does not violate the guidelines stated above.

You'd have thought that people refer to the CoC when they have questions, but lets just pretend I didn't copy and paste from it.

Active users in good standing are allowed to have links to personal sites in their signatures, in their profile, and may post them in threads on occasion (just not often, please) as long as the content of those links does not include abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated material or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.
