There are no indicators for Caps Lock. No light on the keyboard, no on-screen indicator, nothing. You need to start typing first to figure it out. Likewise, there's no indicator for the webcam. If you disable it, it's easy to believe that the webcam is broken.

If you don't plan on adding any indicator lights on the hardware (which is an understandable design decision, this is a beautiful machine), then can you (Sys76) pleaseadd some pop up indicators to say things like "You have enabled CAPS LOCK" or "You have disabled WebCam"?
    Hi bigcat42,

There is a "Lock Key" applet you can add to the panel that will show you the status of the cap lock, num lock and scroll lock keys.

Found it, thanks. It works, but it is also kinda ugly. Oh well.

The webcam thing is still frustrating, though. At the moment, both Cheese & Skype aren't picking up on my webcam. I understand there's some command line magic to check if it's enabled, but I don't know what.

    lsusb | grep Acer

If you get an output from that command, it means it is enabled.

Bigcat42, please try pressing Fn-F10 to turn on your webcam.

If that doesn't work, go to System > Administration > System76 Driver and click the Install tab and the Install button. When the driver finishes running, reboot.
