    Google earth very slow.

I have my laptop partitioned between XP and Ubuntu with Google Earth on both. With Ubuntu when I open it,I get a message "Currently running Google Earth in 'Open GL' with software emulation" and the info. that it will work in that mode, but very slowly!,and it does. I am advised to upgrade the graphics card driver.
What does this mean? Is it just something on the Ubuntu partition?, I cannot see that it means on the PC as it is perfectly OK on the XP partition.

    1. go to System/Admin/Hardware Drivers and install the needed drivers (if there are none, i'm not sure about that)
    2. in Google Earth, turn off atmosphere (makes it run much faster)
