    Question Slideshow software for Linux

    Hey community,

I'm seeking a program to effectively create a slideshow/movie of pictures with the possibility of adding audio tracks to the slideshow.
The reason I call this slideshow is that I will entirely use static pictures instead of video.

Transition effects would be cool and subtitling, too, but not a must.

    Any suggestions?

Have you considered Open Office Presentation? I've used it before for just what you are asking for.

This sounds interesting. I have never tried using OpenOffice Presentation before for this purpose, but I'll give it a try.

    Thanks!

You might want to look into the slideshow authoring software "Imagination" (http://imagination.sourceforge.net/), particularly if you are interested in creating a DVD. Audio track and transition effects are supported, as are so-called "Ken Burns" effects (zooming in/out of a still picture to impart a feeling of motion).
