Mouse drops focus while dragging.

There is a weird problem tht turned up recently. When I click and drag - Both Window Title Bars and text selection- the mouse acts as I have released the button and drops the click and the window/text selection is left in middle of nowhere. I have to try three or four times. Has anybody faced the problem?

No. But I have another OS on the same PC under which the mouse works in the same way. I guess you are right about the hardware issue.
