    Laptop and external LCD

    I have an external monitor that plugs into my laptop via VGA. How can I do dual monitors with this?

    Go into preference and go down to monitors and then detect the other monitor and you should be golden...

    What happened?

    What nVidia card? (Accessories/Terminal, lspci will identify it.)

    What laptop? When you connect the external monitor, does it display anything?
