Help with installing software on Ubuntu

I have problems installing software on Ubuntu. After using KDE desktop interface, primarily due to the HP configuration, only black screen appears, and the bug appeared. When you switch to GNOME, I can not install any software on Ubuntu. What matters here is that. That someone could help me solve this problem. Thanks for everyone's help.

What are you trying to install, and how are you installing it? What error messages are you given?
