    Didn't I specifically say that this enhanced security and encouraged future general security improvements.

    Let's get it straight, I don't think it might be the most logical place to enable it from a privacy stance since you still are handing it to Google. It is though a good PR move, and it is a win for letting users see security as something that is valuable and which doesn't in any way interfere with how they worked before.

    I hope that it drives more secure deployments. Google seem very invested in making this happen and they also had a high impact blow because of the insecurities in their services. They will do it loudly and that is for me the biggest win in this. Getting users to be more secure.
    On strike during the Oneiric cycle due to ungratefulness of Ubuntu.

    It's nice, but I'm not sure what this is supposed to 'fix'; it merely protects you against any packet dumps between the user and google's servers.

    Google still have the search data (doesn't bother me).
    The courts can still subpoena Google for the data (doesn't bother me).

    Does anyone actually enter their credit card numbers into Google's search box?
