gmusicbrowser on lucid has very low volume

I upgraded to Lucid Lynx from Karmic and now, when I try to play music in gmusicbrowser, the volume is so low that its hardly audible. In Exaile, there is no such issue. Deleted the .gmusicbrowser folder in home directory and tried to no avail.

Guys, any suggestion to solve this issue.

what if you click on the speaker/sound icon in your panel, and go to "Sound preferences"...
Maybe something in there got changed?

Then it should affect Exaile and mplayer too, but that is not the case. Exaile and mplayer are playing well.

in case this is still a problem: try the scrollwheel over the trayicon.
if you don't use that try to use a layout with volume indicator. the volume in gmusicbrowser can be independant of other programmes.

This affected me on Ubuntu Studio 12.10 as well. Suddenly gmusicbrowser seemed broken, playing files but not giving any sound.

I couldn't find any errors anywhere, changing settings to no avail and banging my head against an insolvable problem I started looking for other players.

And so it turns out I was probably muting it by accidentally scrolling down on the tray icon (i have a touchpad). Scroll up on tray icon and sound is back. Yay!
On Ubuntu since December 2005 (5.10 onwards)
