Question Is it ok to connect my LCD to the PC power supply?

Hello, my LCD monitor is having some problems and I think that it is the ac~dc adapter that it is not working properly.

The adapter has 12 Volts and 5 Amp
The hard-drive cable from the PC power supply also has 12 Volts but I am not sure about the amps I think that it has 10 amp.

Is it safe to test my LCD with those amps?

    Thanks in advance.

It is only ok, if you want to fry the LCD.

What brand/model is LCD is it?

the amps on the power supply are the number of amps it is rated to deliver, not how much it will deliver no matter what.

as long as the power supply has the capacity to take the load then it should be fine, but i would be skeptical that your power supply has the oomph requires as it also has to power all the other stuff in your computer that needs 12 volts.

If you have to ask, I'd stay away from mucking around with electricity.
