Customizing new install

If you are starting with a clean install of Ubuntu, what do you add to it right off the bat to add functionality or tweak it to your liking? I'm fairly new to linux so I don't have much that I would add right away and would just like to see what others add. Mainly I'm looking for things that add features or make things easier, not just programs.

So far I have found-
Nautilus-open-terminal
mountmanager
Ubuntu-Tweak

Oh, and of course WINE. There are a few programs in Windows that I am having a hard time finding good replacements for. The main one is Bit Che. It's a great program for finding torrents that searches multiple sites without having to go to each one. It does it within the program so you don't even have to open a browser. I can't get it to work in WINE and there isn't a Linux version. Anyone know of a similar program for Linux?

Also, I haven't found a music player I like as much as Jaangle or Media Monkey. Amarok is close but the interface isn't as customizable, or at least the method of doing so isn't as user friendly.

For music try g-que or exaile. Exaile is very simple but G-que is very customiseable

G-que is GREAT! Exactly what I was looking for. Still having problems getting Bit Che to install but I'll work on that in another thread. Thanks for the suggestions.
