Every time I view the main login screen, my computer showcases one of Ubuntu's new "light" themes. Does anyone here know how to customize the colors shown on the login to, say, a darker theme?

Linux systems are like LEGOs :
they are infinitely customizable
and limited only by a user's imagination.

Ubuntu Tweak allow you to change these options.
You could get themes from art.gnome.org and install those.
