Question gnome-display-properties doesn't detect displays after upgrade

    Howdy,

after an upgrade to lucid my laptop (compaq nc4200) is not able to run an external monitor properly. gnome-display-properties doesn't show up any settings that could be changed.

    graphics:
Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller

so, if i plug an external monitor to the laptop it's not shown in gnome-display-properties. using FN-buttons on the keyboard i'm able to see my desktop on the upper left of the external monitor. unfortunately, i can't change the resolution.

is there a way to reset all graphical settings? i started a live session with the live-cd and gnome-display-properties worked properly.
