ERROR cant find hplip ppd tells me to restart cups..

my printer dissapeard and now i tried to install it again and i cant,

i cant connect to cups and when i tried to troubleshoot it it told me i dont have the cups spooler runnnig... i have no idea how to fix this... please help

running ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Same has happened to me, I find hplip/cups unstable. I have deleted and reinstalled cups but often having to do a restart as all disappears.
One or two other applications are not working properly either. Will consider a complete re-install...????
Best of luck. But I suspect a bug should be notified.
