The GNOME file manager (Nautilus) will be removed from GNOME and replaced with the GNOME Activity Journal!

Hmmmm---I've been building from source all along & have not had that problem---GS is working fine here with the current maverick libs....

I might note that the build folder I'm using is more than a year old & I most likely also have older libs in my system.

The purpose of that page is to debunk common myths regarding GNOME 3, and that sentence is quoted as a myth. Nautilus is not going anywhere, and GAJ is not intended to be a replacement for it.

I have the same opinion, Gnome-Shell doesn't give me something new except for trouble to found a specific app. Ok with Docky running.

Testing software without opinions.??...must be mission impossible !

If a user don't test specific software, stay away ! IMHO...

    Re: GNOME Shell Testing

    I have a interesting "problem".

If I attach a external screen to my laptop, Gnome-Shell runs much more smoothly. Without, it's not laggy, it's just not as fast/smooth.

    MacBook 5,1
    GPU: 9400M
    Video out: DisplayPort
    Driver: Nvidia-current (195.36.15)
    Kernel: 2.6.32-22-generic

    Up to Date Lucid install.
    Gnome-shell is installed from source.
