canon lpb 5050n problem

hi,

i'm trying installing canon 5050n

i downloaded CAPTDRV160.tar.gz and installed deb files inside it:

cndrvcups-common_1.60-1_i386.deb
cndrvcups-capt_1.60-1_i386.deb

had to install following pkg to install above ones:
libcupsys2_1.3.9-17ubuntu3.7_all.deb

system-config-printer recognized it and install it as a Canon-LBP5100-CAPT and fails at printing

suggestions ?

doesn't work neither with 190 nor 200 drivers

how to debug it ?

EDIT:
I must point out the printer is behind a print server, which means it could be the problem. Still must try directly via usb.

reverted to samsung again
