    VPNC with no user name

I've been using the Cisco VPN client for linux. Yes, the one that is been patched to dead to make it work with newer kernels.

Recently, I decided to give VPNC a second try, since I know that there's been a lot of work being done to it.

And I am more than happy. It works just fine and it even imports .PCF files.

I have a problem though! If it was all pretty I wouldn't be posting for help right?

If my VPN connection doesn't require a USER NAME and password (for xAuth) the Gnome NetworkManager applet will tell me that the VPN connection failed.

In order for VPNC to work you need to provide username and password not only VPN Group and group pass.

    Any ideas?
