Yesterday I went and began the process of installing unity and added the pap before j decided I wasn't going to install it after all but I never removed the ppa from the repository. Ubuntu then offered to upgrade my kernel to a later version and asked if I wanted to remove the obsolete kernel. I chose not to. The computer restarted and since then the wired Internet connection no long works which is the only way for my desktop to get internet. I've tried booting from the previous kernel but that does me no good. I also cannot remove the unity ppa from the repository thinking at maybe that would be a solution since i do not have an Internet connection. Has anything like this happened to anybody else and What did you do to solve it? I already had to go through a bunch of Trouble to finally get a wire from the router upstairs to my bedroom. I'd hate to be back without internet after all that...
