Ubuntu install graphics issue

when trying to install ubuntu i recieve a screen like this, it occasionally changes. with vertical lines, i have tried 12:04 and 12:10 also 12.04 UEFI security remix



although it looks funky i would prefer a desktop

Nvidia gtx660ti

going to try force the install to not use nvidia

Using "nomodeset" as a boot parameter sometimes works for nVidia graphics cards.
