    any eXist xml db users?

I'm just starting to mess with it and get my feet wet with xquery.
I like the idea of xml db's a lot, I want that club in my bag and so far I'm just doing some simple testing.

The rap I've heard on eXist so far is that it's just short of ready for prime time.

is now 5 years old, and I'm wondering how far it's come since then. So far, in looking at my pretty small docs, the load and query times have come a long way. But I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that uses eXist in a serious production environment; large amounts of mission critical data, and so forth.

This site uses TEI xml markup and serves it using eXist completely:
    http://history.state.gov/

    Hi Leighman,
I just found this thread. could you maybe elaborate or maybe give me a link with details on the usage of TEI along with exist-db in this site? sound really interesting and maybe useful for my needs.

    thanks in advance!

    Hi ekeko,

A friend just alerted me to your post. I'm happy to discuss your questions about history.state.gov - shoot me a message (I'm not a regular poster here).

An even better forum to discuss eXist questions is the exist-open mailing list. It's a friendly and open place. I would also be happy to answer your questions in that public forum.
