I find Ubuntu 64-bit to be very unstable, and not really any faster, so I'm sticking with 32-bit for now.

That is odd. I have been using Ubuntu 64-bit for quite a long time and I have no stability issues.

I have been using 64-bit OS since my second install of ubuntu. Back then, it was hard to find pre-compiled binaries for amd64 ubuntu, almost all software works flawlessly now without compiling anything myself.

I voted "I have a 64bit cpu and use a system optimized for 64bit" but I use 64bit and 32bit OSes. I have more than one PC

Wow! From the looks of the poll so far, things really have changed since that 2007 thread. It's pretty much what I expected though. I can't think of any reasons someone would still want to use a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit cpu. Well, unless they are stuck with less than 1 gig of ram. But these days, 1 gig of ram costs less than your average lunch.
