    Lemur

I'm interested in purchasing a Lemur with all its options maxed; I currently run a Sony Vaio (2.8 gigs memory; Pentium Dual-Core T4200 @ 2GHz) -- how would the Lemur compare?

Also, what's the finish of the case like?

It will probably run slower. How much depends on what you use (ie. gnome, kde, xfce, e17, lxde, etc.) and what programs you use.

    The Sony's T4200 has a 2GHz clock speed and only 1MB of L2 Cache.

    The Lemur's SU7300 has a 1.6GHz clock speed, but 3MB of L2 Cache.

In other words, the T4200 takes little bitty bites of data and processes them a little bit quicker. The SU7200 takes three times bigger bites and processes it a little bit slower.

The Lemur is also more energy efficient, so it's probably quieter and cooler as well.

I've never played with a Sony, but my guess is that, if the Sony is faster, it won't be by much. Most likely, the Lemur will be as fast, if not slightly faster.

The Sony has been a nice surprise; it performs well, especially now that I use Ubuntu solely.

Before I order, what is the Lemur's case like?

And, thank you for your replies!

It has a nice-looking, sound construction. A very professional looking laptop.
