server hardware can ubuntu desktop run on this system?

Hi, I want to know if I can run a gui ubuntu based meaning desktop ubuntu on a server.

The server will have a 16mb gpu onboard. Would this allow me to run ubuntu desktop and just not do any advance graphics?

The server will be used as a server. I will do graphical work on my other computers. I just want to have a gui type interface with the server so I can easily make changes and delete stuff. Instead of working 100% in terminal. It wastes alot of time on typing in commands to delete something whereas I could just left click and select delete is alot quicker.

Yes that should work, probably an idea to turn off all eye candy though.
