Trouble printing to Win2K Pro Server from Karmic

Hi.
I have an Epson Stylus SX405 printer connected to a Win2k Pro file&print server. I'm using the gutenprint driver. I'm having trouble printing from my ubuntu (karmic) box. I can add the printer successfully and I can access the properties etc. If I press the "Print Self-Test Page" it sends a test page to the printer, however the 'regular' test page (or anything else) results in a "Print Error" with a message that states "There was a problem processing document 'Test Page' job 8".

The Diagnose Wizard tells me that there may be a problem with the share but I can print successfully from my laptop running Lucid and from my wife's notebook running Win7.

Any ideas?
