From the other post about RCRe: 10.04 RC and ATI
Just to let you know, the RC hasn't been officially released yet, I would wait for the official announcement.

A vivid and creative mind characterizes you.
ATI Radeon HD6850, E7300 Core2duo, Asus P5Q
There's no such thing as "the update from Beta 2 to RC". Both Beta 2 and RC are stabilized milestones that reflect the state of the package archive at their release time. So unless you kept your Beta 2 installation stale by not updating, you're not updating from Beta 2 to RC; you're just getting whatever relevant updates last became available on the archive.
There's no way to tell how large that will be, since it depends on your architecture, when you last updated, and what packages you have installed.
It's always the same people expect lots of updates but after the freeze most things are in place and it's only bug fixes.

I wish that during the Maverick release cycle, the day the milestone is released there was a small change to the "About Ubuntu" that said:
"You are using Ubuntu the Maverick Meerkat Alpha 1"
"You are using Ubuntu the Maverick Meerkat Alpha 2"
"You are using Ubuntu the Maverick Meerkat Alpha 3"
"You are using Ubuntu the Maverick Meerkat Beta 1"
etc
It would really put a stop to this threads that happen during every milestone because no one bothers to pay attention to the sticky that mentions if you do all the updates you have {insert milestone}
If the only reason you think your software is better is because it's FOSS, you need to write better software
