I found that, by disabling ACPI/APM, I was able to get the LiveCD to run, although wireless would not run. (Not worried about that - I can easily get it working later.)

However, once installed on my laptop, Ubuntu flat out will NOT start. I've tried all the commands (acpi=off, noacpi, etc.) and regardless of what I do, it continues to stop @ some point, displaying nothing more than a bunch of lines of code (which I can and will post later if needs be).

Anyone have any suggestions? I do know it's an Athlon 2.10GHz chip, with 2Gb of RAM, running the RTL8192 wireless card, as well as the Mobility Radeon 4100 video card. Will continue researching to find the problem, but in the meantime would like some advice if at all possible.
