    10.04 beta 2 Lucid Lynx Suspend and Hibernate problem

    Toshiba Satellite M500. Suspend and hibernate don't work (blank screen).

    Laptop specs:
    Intel® Core™ i3-330M Processor 2.13 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache, 1066MHz DDR3, 4GB DDR3 1066MHz SDRAM (2048MBx2), 250GB HDD (5400rpm, Serial-ATA), Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD.

    I am not sure what other information to post about this issue. Any suggestions?

    im not sure if your laptop is new enough but I have an i7 laptop with USB 3.0 and the usb3 controller is what hangs the system up on sleep/hibernate. i get locked out and have to cold boot. Sarah Sharp is a linux developer who has made usb3 driver for linux and that may solve the problem. her article is here: http://sarah.thesharps.us/2009-06-09-13-30.cherry

    people have also has good luck with this script that fixes the problem. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ls/+bug/562484

    again, not sure if you have usb3 but it's something...

    By the way, this is the last thing I can see before the system freezes ('sudo pm-suspend' in text terminal):

    ----------------------------------------------------
    [ 379.702328] ata2.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x1 SErr 0x5000 action 0xe frozen

    [ 379.702525] ata2: SError: {PHYRdyChg CommWake }
    [ 379.702596] ata2.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
    [ 379.702680] ata2.00: cmd 60/08:00:cd:5a:e6/00:00:0c:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq 4096 in

    [ 379.702890] ata2.00: status: { DRDY }
    -----------------------------------------------------
    Any clue what is it all about?

    The first approach is too complex for me :O and I don't have usb3, at least I don't think so . I've tried the second link, and it appears that my system is not using the module that they mention.

    Thanks anyways,
