    No way. The day Lucid goes final I'll edit /etc/lsb-release to say
    Code:
    DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
    DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.10
    DISTRIB_CODENAME=maverick
    DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu maverick (development branch)"

    Very impressed with 10.4 beta2 so far.

    Installed on a 6 year old dell latitude d400 (1.7Ghz Centrino / 1Gb RAM) and wireless / video / hibernate worked on first boot - very impressive stuff. The other thing I've noticed is that this now has much better support for the centrino chipset. Previous version would never throttle the cpu back when the system wasn't under load = lots of heat. Really liking this.

    Well done.

    The poll lacks an option for those who are not currently using Ubuntu. Although I suppose you could consider this an "upgrade" in that case I've been using Lucid on and off since Alpha 2 (don't think Alpha 1) but Mint 8 is still my primary distro, and Win 7 my primary OS. Beta 2 was very buggy at release but the bugs I ran into were largely fixed within 24 hours so that's certainly a credit to the developers.

    I hadn't used Ubuntu for years but recently installed the first beta and it is the smoothest and least problematic Linux install I have ever had. I like it a lot.

    I'm excited about Lucid, it's just excellent. I started Lucid at alpha 3 stage and it's worked perfectly for me.

    Re: Lucid Lynx (10.04)!!!!

    I tried to update a previous 9.10 install. Basically, KPackageKit pulled in a lot of updates, then my desktop froze for some reason and I had to reboot. After this the file system was hosed and would not boot, VFS error and all. So instead I just downloaded a 10.04 beta and did a clean install.

    ...and that has worked very well so far, even with the proprietary Nvidia drivers.

    Re: Lucid Lynx (10.04)!!!!

    i still have some problems (high temp and wifi)

    fresh install. after few minutes of just looking around then it get high temperature. I check "top" but no application suing high memory and no high cpu usage.

    I rest it to cool down.

    I turn on again to test the internet. I saw my wireless is detected and I can see my accesspoint. then i try to connect. It was connected but when I try to open firefox it cannot display any website(page cannot display). I try empathy, cannot connect also to internet.

    I shutdown. I use windows vista. It has internet.

    maybe I need to wait for final release
    squeeze it and release it =)
