Question SearchMonkey problem opening found files!

    Hi.
Searchmonkey is a great program. I notice that when I find a file and open it, this happens [3 pictures illustrate this].

    1. Picture A is my configuration (this must be wrong!).
    2. Picture B is an example search for the word 'milk' and the found text file.
    3. Picture C is when I open (edit) the file. It opens three blank pages in gedit with each page named after a part of the file name.

What must I do to fix this bizarre event?

Re: SearchMonkey problem opening or browsing found file

I have the exact same problem. I even tried setting bluefish as my text editor and it opens them blank.
    /usr/bin/bluefish
Also, If I try to browse the file location with Nautilus, it does not work.
    ??? Ideas anyone???

Did you edit the files and all? I would just leave it default unless your 100% positive of what you're about to do. Try to restore the default settings if you edited the settings.

In settings - preferences - system calls, make searchmonkey find the defaul executables; then, just delete the attributes for the text editor and the folder explorer (I've not tried for the web browser yet). This way it works ok Ubuntu 12.04
