Does anyone know if there is any way to change the login screen theme? I use Ubuntu 9.10 and can't find out how to change it. I would really like to change it so it is the same theme as my desktop.

Sadly, you can't, not through any painless default ways, in any case. See http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1311284
If you want to use old login themes, you'll have to downgrade to the old GDM.
