Sharing an ntfs drive over nfs

I have a home network -- two Karmic machines and a Vista laptop, networked with samba for the laptop and NFS for the desktops. I attached a 1TB USB drive to one of the Karmic machines. The drive shows up fine on the laptop, but not on the other desktop. It's mounted to a folder in my home folder. When I open that folder on the other desktop, it shows blank, like there's nothing in the folder. How can I solve this problem?

    Edit:

I forgot to mention that the USB drive is ntfs. I've been searching for answers, but everything I find is more than 2 years old and mentions nfs-3g, which I understand is included standard in karmic.
