Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

    Hello everyone,

New dude to Ubuntu, in a way.
I tried Ubuntu back in 6 or 7, I was using a crappy L35-S1054 back then, so I had a bunch of issues with proprietary graphics drivers. I'm good now obviously. I'm utilizing Kubuntu, I stopped using Windows for now, this way I can dedicate my time on my laptop to learning about linux and eventually I plan on contributing on my free time.

Now, I'm using a G73jh-A3, and it seems to be running quite well with lucid.

    Hello all,
    Ubuntu newbie here
Been trying out various Linux distros since 1998, mainly because
    win98 kept crashing.

Get sucked in to the dark side again for a few years after XP
got relesed, then starting to hate Vista, thinking of going back
to Linux. Then Win7 came out, which is a pretty good effort from M$
    tbh.

I still have Win7 on my other hard drive, but I'm trying out
Linux again because I miss it
Just got 10.04 installed, installation was smooth.
Networking both wired and wireless all working without any specific config.

Default fonts are nice. Installing Google Chrome is easy.
    I'm liking it!

Thumbs down Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

Hello everyone! I`m Karen, a blues-rock musician with a large tendency to lean on the geeky side. Spent 7 years administrating 2 home Win PCs, but finally got too tired of all the drawbacks of M$. So this in June 2010 I tried Ubuntu 10.04 and it was love at the first sight.
Since I`m a fast learner I`ve tried many-many-many different distros of Linux and even FreeBSD, but finally I figured out the tools I needed for my work both as a musician and a translator - they are listed in my signature.
I had some issues and questions so I spent quite a considerable time lurking here and now I`m finally ready to show myself. Thanks for your attention!
    Cheers,
    Karen

Thank you Tibuda for the link. i am also new to ubuntu/linux, and find it a bit hard to understand some of the things i need to do to get stuff working. BUT, its all fun and i am still enjoying every minute of it. Its very nice to see a forum that so active, and
know i will learn alot for our other ubuntu/linux users. I am currently studying in the infosec route, and have been doing a support i.t role for 12years. I do actualy rtfm, so when i do ask a question i already tried a few things and read up on it.
