Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums and hopefully I can learn and help out other people along the way. I've been using different distros since about 2008. I recently started running ubuntu 12.04 full time on my laptop. I didn't even allow the computer to boot Windows 8 one time. Booted straight from my USB stick to the ubuntu installation, and I'm finding day to day use with ubuntu is far more enjoyable than Windows.

My main reason for running ubuntu full time is to one, free myself from Windows and two, learn as much as I can about the linux terminal and scripting. My prior use was mainly to perform work related tasks, such as Apache web hosting, data recovery, and data backup/transfers. I work in the IT field and figure knowing linux can only help me with my career.

Anyway Hello everyone, nice to meet you!

Talking Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

    Hello,

I am 00011001 years old and linux is my old, good mistress that satisfies me better and better as the years goes by.

I use Ubuntu server for about 3 years on my and my friends file/web servers. Laptop is running Linux Mint.
My fridge is not using linux yet, but my ancient color TV has a new linux friend - RaspberryPi.

    Happy to be here!

    Jan and his mistress

Welcome Jan. We're going to enjoy you, I mean, do enjoy the forums!

I, too, bought my TV a RPi because it needed a friend. So far, they seem to enjoy each other's company ...
