Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

Hi, I'm Dymphy, currently 22 years old and Dutch. At the moment, I'm still a student and next week I'll start the last phase of my college education which is a 1 year internship in the wonderful field of bio-informatics.

One of my teachers (well, teachers perhaps isn't the right word) infected me with the ubuntu virus - and another with the python virus.

I'd love to hear about good books where I can learn more about both Ubuntu as Python (I'm currently busy in Learning Python by Mark Lutz.

    Hi, Everyone
I"m new to the forums and the ubuntu community in general even though I have been running ubuntu since the hardy heron release and I have to say I visit these forums often but mainly to help solve problems I have run into in the past with both hardware and sofware issues and I have finally decided to try and give something back to the communty that has helped me so much over the yrs as I am now installing and beginning my testing of raring so far its going good go the live version running as I am posting this from that version now. I'll start the install here in a few mins and let you all know how it goes.
thanks for being there and looking foward to helping out in anyway I can if anything comes to mind let me know I mainly test software and games to see if and how they run on new releases.
    Jason (have a nice day)

    Heh, thanks a lot dude.

Hot butter that is smothering popcorn! Hope you do stick around. I personally dislike Unity and use Xubuntu but you can try the desktop environment by installing xfce4, log out, choose from 'Sessions' pop up and log in. Doesn't drag in the whole Xubuntu palaver, only the DE. The beauty of Linux. Back to Unity the same way. Just thought I'd mention.

Lots to explore and enjoy the learning curve.

    I'm xArcticGx (Pronounced: Ark-tick Jee).

I'm a Computer Science Major with an interest in operating systems and audio/video technology. My first taste of Linux was Ubuntu 10.04, and I was quite intrigued by the system. I hope to learn all I can about Linux here.
